Print Finishing

The central hub of activity of the photo lab.

Students remove their prints from the wash, squeegee them, & run them through the dryers, or put them on drying racks.

We have a large central countertop area where they can mount their prints on boards using tacking irons and dry mounting presses.

They can trim prints to size with paper cutters and cut window mats with a mat cutter.

A color correct viewing light is positioned over a table in the middle of the room.

Students bring prints out of the darkrooms and evaluate them in a controlled situation under these lights.
